🔴 For Fall 2021 Students

COVID-19 update as of July 5.

We are fairly confident that Japan’s borders will open up to travelers from the USA and other countries by Fall (October). This is the general view among many educational institutions in
Japan at the moment.

As Japan and the world continue to vaccinate its citizens, barring any major spikes during the
Summer Olympics in Tokyo, we should see an end to the extremely tough border entry process.
It is unknown if Japan will require vaccinations for anyone entering the country, but we strongly
recommend students do get vaccinated before travel.

In the event that Japan does not open its borders by Fall program start, we will refund all of
your tuition (and housing) payments minus $50.

We are confident that Japan will continue to ramp up its vaccination efforts, and will take strict measures to prevent any major spikes in infection rates due to the summer Olympics that may prevent a border reopening in the Fall.

🔴 Refunds

All students will receive a 100% refund, less a $50 application processing fee, if they are not allowed into the country for their summer or summer short term programs at KCP.

If the Japanese government shows no signs of lifting the entry ban in time for the students’ chosen term, we will make an announcement in advance so that students can make their decision to cancel their study abroad enrollment before the deadline.

I selected this program because it allows me to use my student loans to attend, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to have this experience. I also wanted a challenge and to improve my fluency as fast as possible. The pace at KCP is challenging but helps me focus.
